Fall 2019: Read to Them - Communications Intern (can start mid-summer)

Read to Them is looking for a Communications Intern to help with a broad array of program, marketing, and communications tasks. You'll be invited to help with our programming materials; our wide array of marketing tools; help update material on our website; and help execute and improve some of our social media communications. Platforms you may be asked to use: MS Word; Constant Contact/Mail Chimp; Adobe Illustrator; InDesign; Word Press; Instagram; Twitter; Facebook.
Read to Them provides itself on enabling interns to touch a wide variety of tasks and will invite you to grow in independence and responsibility. Your work will also sometimes be collaborative often working w/ other young people like yourself.
Read to Them is a Richmond based non-profit with national reach. We have a staff of 20 full and part time employees working in a light, airy office in the BookBindery on Broad St. Our mission is to create a culture of literacy in every home. We do this by showing schools and families how to practice family literacy - reading high quality children's novels at home and celebrating/exploring them in school.
Be prepared to share samples of student or professional work - including essays, art or design portfolio work - including web based pages or social media curating.
