The Systems Analysis and Concept Directorate (SACD) examines existing systems and defines future architectures, vehicles, and operational concepts to enable informed technical, programmatic, and budgetary decisions. We create integrated airspace and vehicle concepts; space mission, architecture, and vehicle concepts; and decision analysis and independent assessments in a systems level context to all of the NASA Mission Directorates. From rockets to satellites, robotic precursors to human habitats, UAVs to commercial transports to hypersonic flight, from looking at the airspace in which we fly to the air we breathe, SACD ( is helping move NASA forward. SACD is looking for an intern who can support these endeavors through a variety of duties including web development, social media management, content marketing, communications support, and more. This opportunity will require many skills to complete these duties and successfully advance awareness of programs and resources, including but not limited to web content writing and management, image editing, videography, social media management, and graphic design. Prospective students may find themselves working alongside project coordinators in support of NASA engineering competitions, spearheading social media campaigns, providing assistance to our award winning media specialists, conducting research in support of program proposals, supporting formal or informal outreach events, and/or writing various copy for our media-enabled programs.

Computer/Software Skills:
Key skills required include proficient knowledge of Wordpress, proficient knowledge of JavaScript/jQuery, strong knowledge of HTML/CSS, proficient knowledge of communications strategies, and strong knowledge of visual media. In addition, valuable skills include knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, photography, and lighting.
