Job Description:
The Division of Public Affairs: Web Design Intern is an entry-level, part-time position that is responsible for assisting with web design and development projects. This position supports the Virginia Department of Social Services’ (VDSS) Public Affairs Digital Content Manager and Web Designer/Developer with building and editing HTML pages; uploading changes onto the website; and assessing the user experience and functionality challenges of digital platforms.

Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge of HTML and CSS. Experience using PC computers including Outlook, Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Preferred Qualifications:
Degree (earned or in-progress) from an accredited college with a concentration in web-development, information technology or a related field or a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the work. Knowledge of the design, implementation and maintenance process of an organization’s public website, Intranet, and content management systems (CMS).
