DESCRIPTION OF ORGANIZATION
The Metropolitan Business League, a 44 year old, non-profit business association is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic marketing and public relations intern to join its team. The intern will gain real world hands-on experience working to plan events and to provide marketing and communications support.
INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with communications, public relations, fundraising and event planning
- Managing our social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIN) and implement additional social media efforts
- Maintain close communication with staff to coordinate activities and schedules
- Produce monthly e-Newsletter for distribution to entire database
- Assist in updating our membership database
- Other projects or tasks as agreed upon with or delegated by supervisor
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong oral and writing skills
- Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work on tight and overlapping deadlines
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team
- Familiarly with WordPress and HTML coding is highly desired
- Knowledge of graphic design is a plus
- Major in Business, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field
Interns must commit to at least 15 hours per week. The position in unpaid but class credit is optional.
