Sports Marketing/Public Relations Intern Fall 2016

 

Benefit: Frontline educational experience with senior level marketers and executives with NASCAR, International Motorsports Association, Fox Sports, NBC Sports, Virginia International Raceway and other major speedways. The internship also covers sports publishing, new media, events marketing and more--a standout on your resume.

 

LRL Marketing & Public Relations/LRL Racing major auto racing projects require strategic marketing and public relations assistance. These include promoting sports celebrities, developing a race team and marketing nationally and internationally televised racing events and new business development. Among the projects:

 

Mackena Bell Racing: Mackena Bell, NASCAR K&N, Xfinity Driver:

Assist in obtaining her team sponsorships and create a strategic marketing plan for her role as a national spokesperson for the American Lung Association. Work closely with the Lung Association national PR office in coordinating her activities for Lung Force.

Virginia International Raceway: Hosts national and international motorsports events including the WeatherTech United Sports Car Championships, Pirelli World Challenge, Moto-America Superbike Challenge and the NASCAR Biscuitville 125. The mission is to obtain sponsors by creating and assisting in business presentations, and working with the sponsors in managing their experience. www.virnow.com

 

Larry McReynolds Racing: Larry McReynolds is the Fox Sports lead broadcaster for all NASCAR events. His company develops young racing talent and I am a marketing and sponsor consultant. The focus is to assist in developing sponsor relationships for his NASCAR Teams in K&N, Camping World Truck Series and Xfinity Series.

 

Anthem Motorsports: AM is an official marketing for NASCAR (International Speedway Corp./ISC.) events offering creative development, publishing, public relations, sponsorship valuation, custom content, communication strategies, multimedia development, sponsorship programming and marketing activation.

 

New Business Development: Assist in strategic planning, creating and presenting new business “pitches.”

 

Time Commitment Fall Intern: 10-20 hours per week. In-office & virtual. Based: Richmond, VA, telecommute.

 

Requirements: Marketing/Public Relations major: junior or senior. Power Point, social media, excellent presentation & writing skills.
