The Graphic Design Intern is responsible for the creation of print and digital elements supporting and translating the vision of the group into tangible concepts. The Graphic Design Intern will not only be conceptual, but also hands-on, executing exciting digital foundations to build bigger ideas in the future. This position is responsible for generating ideas, encouraging other to share and explore ideas and maintaining high standards at all times. The Graphic Design Intern will work with the Manager of Business Administration to develop print/digital layouts for all areas within the Enterprise. This is a quick turn/quick change environment with deadlines. Attention to detail is a must.

Virginia ABC is charged with a mission of generating a reliable stream of revenue for Virginia and promoting public safety through the responsible sale and regulation of alcoholic beverages. The agency promotes the responsible consumption and distribution of spirits by its 19,000 licensees to persons of age and advocates a zero-tolerance for underage consumption using prevention initiatives that focus on environmental, educational and information dissemination strategies. Virginia ABC operates 395 conveniently located retail stores that supply a consistent source of revenue to Virginia. The authority transferred more than $2.3 billion to Virginia’s general fund in the last five years.

The Phillips Collection’s robust and competitive internship program provides critical support for the museum’s exhibitions and programming. Interns play a vital role in the museum’s work while gaining first-hand experience and mentorship in many aspects of arts and non-profit administration. In addition to working directly with staff in their departments, interns have the opportunity to connect with their peers and other museum staff during lunchtime sessions, staff meetings, and museum programs.

Elizabeth Cabell is a visual fine artist with a studio in Montpelier, Virginia and a growing presence in the fine art world. Holding Fine Arts degrees from both James Madison University and Virginia Commonwealth University, School of the Arts, Elizabeth is classically trained in the Fine Arts and well-travelled in Italy and Europe. Her work is currently exhibiting in several national galleries and exhibitions and she is actively taking and working on commissions. Though her interior design work of 25 years with Cabell Design Studio has won numerous national awards and has been featured in national press, her passion is painting.

The College of Humanities and Sciences is accepting applications for an enthusiastic student intern with a passion for communications, a talent for creating engaging web content, and an eye for detail. The successful candidate will work with the webmaster to fulfill content update requests to the College’s websites and web properties using a content management system (TerminalFour). The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with strong attention to detail and basic skills with HTML and CSS who is able to meet deadlines. The intern will learn about working with brand standards, meeting ADA web accessibility criteria and other institutional web guidelines, and how to work with a collaborative communications team to produce great-looking and compliant digital media.
