Founded in Richmond in January 2015 as PartyRVA, the startup's award-winning platform has been named "Best Regional Startup 2015" in the i.e. Competition as well as "Best Startup" in START!Peninsula 4.0 and by Capital One Labs. The startup was accelerated by Lighthouse Labs RVA Accelerator Program and by the DC I-Corps Regional Training Program. In 2016, the startup changed the name to OccasionGenius for a national launch.
