Dr. Nicole O’Donnell is an assistant professor of public relations in the Richard T. Robertson School of Media and Culture. Her primary research focuses on emerging new technology in the context of health and environmental communication campaigns. She is specifically interested in campaigns that utilize social media and mobile technology platforms.
O’Donnell has published in various academic journals such as Visual Communication Quarterly, the Journal of Visual Communication in Medicine, and the Journal of Business Research. She frequently presents her research at national and international conferences. She is a member of AEJMC’s Communicating Science, Health, Environment and Risk research division and Visual Communication research division. Additionally, she is on Journalism and Mass Communication Educator’s International Editorial Advisory Board.
O’Donnell specializes in teaching public relations strategy. She has a decade of professional PR experience working in campaign design, implementation, and evaluation. She often collaborates with non-profit organizations like Friends of the Clearwater, Room One, and the Inland Northwest Healthy Youth Collaborative.
