Judi Crenshaw has been an adjunct instructor at the Robertson School of Media and Culture since 2012 and became a full-time instructor in 2018. She serves as the School's Coordinator of the Public Relations Sequence. She was one of the first to specialize in teaching the class Social Media for PR and created a social media practicum for VCU students during the 2015 UCI Road World Championships. Her teaching spans PR Writing and Media Relations, PR Production and PR Campaigns. She received her M.S. in Communication with a concentration in Strategic Communication/Public Relations from the Brian Lamb School of Communication at Purdue University, along with a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Communication Management, also from Purdue. She holds a B.S. degree in Mathematics and Communications from Wake Forest University. She earned professional credentials through Accreditation in Public Relations (APR).
With a lively career in nonprofit communications and public relations, Crenshaw has been Director of Communications with the Virginia Council on Economic Education (VCEE), the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF/Save the Bay), and Virginia Rep Theatre. Active in the public relations field at large, Crenshaw is upcoming President of PRSA Richmond, having served as Treasurer, VP for Professional Development and Nonprofit Section Chair. She has won multiple Virginia PR Awards in Media Relations, Press Conferences, Op-Eds, Video Series and Events. Both online and off, Crenshaw is a passionate advocate for equal rights, social justice and the #RVA civic community.
