Virginius Dabney Distinguished Professor to host public event on the media and the presidential race

The 2016 Presidential campaign has been one of the most turbulent in the nation’s history. But no institution has been blamed as much—or shamed as much—as the American press.

Should the media have abandoned their age-old stance of neutrality? Has coverage been fully fair and accurate? And where does political coverage go from here, especially as traditional media platforms diminish in influence?

Bob Levey, the Virginius Dabney Distinguished Professor of Journalism at VCU's Robertson School, will explore these questions and several others in a public lecture on campus on the evening of October 20, 2016. Levey is a retired columnist for The Washington Post, a prize-winning radio and television talk show host and a longtime observer of the national political scene.
