Moving classes online requires a bit of ingenuity, finesse and most of all creativity. When the right people come together, anything is possible. That's exactly what happened when Matt Isner and Matt Fidler, owners of Charles Ryan Associates, a multi-state communication firm with offices in Richmond, pulled together a virtual tour for Robertson School students in the public relations capstone course Agency after their in-person tour was cancelled due to social distancing protocols. The The CRA team assembled a virtual tour that provided real-life examples and advice for agency life and breaking into the workforce after graduation.
"This information is vital for students during the COVID-19 pandemic in order to educate and inform graduating seniors who will start their professional PR careers in this environment. And, it allows practicing PR professionals the opportunity to learn how to adapt and continue learning virtually in a crisis," said public relations senior and Agency student Kyle Bevenour.
"The coronavirus pandemic has forced us to be creative, flexible and resilient in a time of crisis. This 'virtual tour' is a great example of a local agency, Charles Ryan Associates, stepping up to help our students continue to experience 'real life' in the public relations industry and what it takes to successfully complete a campaign," said Agency Account Director and adjunct professor Jen Kostinuk. "I truly appreciate CRA’s willingness to thoughtfully answer student’s questions from their homes."
