Robertson School alumnus Jeffrey Blount was honored as a VCU Alumni Star at an alumni dinner at the Science Museum of Virginia on Thursday. The event, which celebrated its 30th anniversary, honored 17 outstanding alumni of the university.

"We are so proud of Jeffrey Blount's many accomplishments in his exceptional career and could not think of anyone more deserving of this honor," said Dr. Marcus Messner, interim director of the Robertson School.

Blount was inducted to the Virginia Communications Hall of Fame in 2016 after an award-winning television career at NBC News. He directed Meet The Press, The Today Show, NBC Nightly News, The Chris Matthews Show and major special events. He is also an award winning-author of three novels. His latest novel "The Emancipation of Evan Walls" was published this summer. He graduated from the Robertson School (then the School of Mass Communications) in 1981.
