Advertising professor Bizhan Khodabandeh, along with more than twenty other artists, will attempt to answer a large hypothetical question through a new art exhibit that is set to open this Friday at a local art gallery.
The premise of the exhibit “130 Years of Übercorp: 1887–2017,” is to raise the question of power and commercialism in the modern era. The curator of the show, Noah Scalin, asked several local and regional artists to create artifacts from the “Übercorp” era—a fictitious era of history where one major corporation held a monopoly on all things commercial and cultural.
Khodabandeh’s submission to the exhibit will be his imagining of a fast food meal's packaging from the Übercorp era. The exhibit will open at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1 at Gallery 5 (200 W. Marshall St.) and will remain open until Sept. 28. Find out more about the event here.
